Christmas is traditionally a time for family and friends, and a period that signifies hope for the future.

For many modern slavery survivors supported by Causeway, this could be their first Christmas in years where they feel safe, and can look forward to their future again with optimism instead of fear.

Our Christmas fundraising campaign, Rewriting Christmas, aims to highlight how help from Causeway can empower survivors to turn their lives around, and to show the difference in circumstances and emotional outlook, that 12 months of support can make.

We spoke to four modern slavery survivors to see how much their lives have changed since arriving at Causeway, and to hear how this Christmas compares to their last.

Read their stories below, and if you are able to, please donate to support modern slavery slavery survivors.

Help Causeway Rewrite Christmas for modern slavery survivors

Modern slavery is an issue that still blights the world, including the UK, where there are an estimated 100,000 victims of human trafficking and exploitation.

Recovering from this abuse can take years, but it is our job, and our passion, to support survivors back into a life where they are resilient to re-trafficking, full of self-confidence, and with dreams and hopes for a future worth living.

As well as our safe houses and outreach programmes, our recovery services include counselling sessions, employment support, confidence building community groups, education opportunities, and a phone service that lets survivors know they are never alone.

This Christmas please consider donating towards Causeway’s life-changing work.

We promise to do our utmost to make sure any amount you donate is used to achieve the biggest impact possible in the lives of those we support.

Thank you for your generosity this Christmas.
