Bright Future Co-operative

Bright Future Co-operative is a national initiative originally developed by Causeway, but which is now an independent co-operative that aims to fast-track survivors of modern slavery into high quality employment.

The Bright Future Co-operative is a scheme that sees participants matched with an employer, and then provided with a paid work experience placement. If the placement is successful, they are offered a job. This bypasses hurdles such as applications and interviews that can be intimidating barriers to survivors.

Causeway has the contract to deliver the National Matching Service for the Co-operative, which matches participants with employers. Existing business members include Balfour Beatty, Currys, Greencore, MidCounties Coop, Morrisons and Pilgrim’s UK.

Bright Future Co-operative has been empowering survivors of modern slavery to move into safe employment for seven years. Now they are launching the UK's first dedicated careers website so more survivors from across the UK can enter employment, rebuild their lives, and take control over their futures.

This innovative new referral platform, which will be run by Causeway, enables organisations to find work opportunities for the survivors they support, and for businesses to advertise jobs, build an inclusive workforce, and support survivors to build careers and confidence in their recovery journey.

Join us on June 20th at 11am to hear from guest speakers, including former Anti-Slavery Commissioner Dame Sara Thornton, and businesses who have successfully employed survivors through Bright Future Co-operative, for an exclusive introduction to how the new platform works.
